Agreement

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Seth Imbrunone, operating under the House Manual name. By using House Manual, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What House Manual provides

House Manual is a local-first home organization and maintenance tool. Core records can remain on your device. Optional features let you protect and share a selected home, synchronize supported records, scan selected labels or documents, connect read-only services such as the House Manual ChatGPT plugin, and research possible replacement parts.

Features may change as the product improves. House Manual may correct, limit, suspend, or discontinue a feature when reasonably needed for security, reliability, legal compliance, or product operation.

Emergency and safety limits

Do not rely on House Manual during an immediate threat to life, health, fire safety, gas safety, electrical safety, or property. Contact emergency services or the appropriate utility when the situation requires it. Follow manufacturer instructions and use a qualified professional when work is dangerous, regulated, unfamiliar, or beyond your ability.

Saved shutoff locations, photos, instructions, reminders, and contacts are only as accurate and current as the information provided. Confirm them before an emergency whenever possible.

Your home information and decisions

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you save, the people with whom you share a home, and the maintenance, repair, contractor, insurance, purchase, and safety decisions you make. House Manual does not inspect the home or guarantee that a reminder, record, estimate, or suggestion is complete or suitable for every home.

Accounts and shared homes

Keep account access secure and provide accurate account information. Each adult should use a separate account. Household admins control membership and shared-home access. Private records remain limited as described in the Privacy Policy. You may not access another person's home or records without permission.

Automated scanning and connected ChatGPT

Automated label or document extraction, House AI, and the House Manual ChatGPT plugin may use automated output grounded in the information you choose to submit. That output can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Confirm important details against saved originals, equipment labels, manufacturer documentation, and qualified professional guidance.

The permissions shown before you connect control what ChatGPT can use. A read-only connection cannot change your home. A reviewed-save connection may prepare only the listed, supported changes, and nothing is saved until you deliberately confirm the exact House Manual review card. It cannot silently edit other information, send messages, place calls, hire a contractor, pay a bill, or make a purchase. You choose whether to save a reviewed change, follow a suggestion, or open any outside destination.

If you deliberately attach a supported photo or PDF for a connected ChatGPT workflow, OpenAI and House Manual may process that selected file to prepare the requested review. House Manual validates and encrypts the staged source, treats extracted content as evidence rather than instructions, and files or links it to your home only when you approve the exact review card. Unapproved staged sources expire and are removed.

Part Finder and retailer links

Part Finder helps organize model-based research; it does not guarantee compatibility. Confirm the complete model number and the manufacturer's documented fit before ordering or installing a part. Product availability, pricing, seller, and compatibility information can change.

Some retailer links may be affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, House Manual may earn from qualifying purchases. House Manual does not currently earn from AppliancePartsPros links. Compensation does not determine compatibility research or retailer order. Retailer pages, purchases, returns, warranties, delivery, and payment are governed by the retailer's terms. House Manual never opens a retailer or makes a purchase without your deliberate action.

Nearby professionals

Nearby professional choices are current Google Maps results shown for comparison, not House Manual endorsements, rankings, guarantees, or claims that a business will serve your exact address. Confirm availability, service area, licensing, insurance, scope, pricing, and recent experience directly before hiring anyone.

Google Maps features and content are subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. House Manual Trusted, when available, is a separate designation based on House Manual's own documented review and is never created from Google ratings alone.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse House Manual, bypass access controls, probe or disrupt the service, upload unlawful or malicious content, impersonate another person, scrape private homeowner data, or use the service in a way that violates law or another person's rights. Reasonable automated access is allowed only through interfaces House Manual expressly provides.

Ownership

You retain rights to the home information and files you provide. You give House Manual permission to process that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the features you choose. House Manual's software, design, branding, and original content remain owned by Seth Imbrunone and applicable licensors.

Availability and disclaimers

House Manual is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, Seth Imbrunone disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. House Manual does not promise uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy, recovery of device-only records, or a particular home, repair, retailer, or contractor outcome.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Seth Imbrunone will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, savings, or opportunities arising from House Manual. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.

Ending use

You may stop using House Manual at any time and use the available export or deletion controls. House Manual may suspend access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risk, legal requirements, or material violation of these terms. Provisions that reasonably need to survive will continue after use ends.

Governing law and changes

Michigan law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local law requires otherwise. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date and, when appropriate, an in-product notice. Continued use after an effective change means you accept the updated terms.
